Ponder This Living Rock- Michael Erickson

Upon a path of dusted rock do we walk,

Beneath a sapphire sky.

Wandering a long and winding course,

So many have trodden before.

Yet alone we find ourselves,

Within the beauty of the earth.

Let us pause this moment and drink in,

What Mother Nature has wished for us to see.

Shades of life layered within this living rock,

Pulsing in a summer sun to remind us.

What is true, what is right, and what we should not forget,

All contained in an open mountain side.

Bring our thoughts to these roots,

That we may dwell upon our beginning.

For from nature did we rise,

As water gave us life.

Let us bask in the humility that is our fate,

To return to this ground and counting waters.

Do not forget our Mother’s warm embrace,

From birth to death and every part in between.
