By Charles Robert Lindholm
She stands high upon the bluff
a silhouette of one
lonely on the shore
It’s what she’s always done
She is a lonely beacon
that beckons all to come
unnoticed by the multitudes
but cared about by some
An angel to the sailors
on a bleak and stormy night
the savior to the ships at sea
on a foggy night
She’s not a Prima Dona
she feels no need for praise
she’s shy about herself
and how she spends her days
she knows she has a duty
that comes around each night
and so, from far away
You can see her shinning bright
You might think,
that she’d be lonely
high upon the bluff
but her Beloved Tender,
loves her
and for her
that is enough

Yes, dear Chuck, we spend this week in our summer cottage, close to a huge lake – this is always very nice there, to be in the middle of the nature and around, far and wide, there is no-one.
Also for you a pleasant week, dear friend 🙂

Google… Lime Kiln Lighthouse… the most photographed spot on the island. The other one is at Cattle Point.

Well, My Friend you are very lucky to be in the San Juan Islands!!! They are really awesome! Thanks for the tip about Lime Kiln Lighthouse. Interesting history!! I loved the profiles of the keepers. I put a note in my Word Bank as a seed of inspiration – The Keepers Of The Light. I really appreciated your pointing me to your Lighthouse!!
